Alocasia plumbea

It grows rather large - at least 2-ft leaves on 4-5 ft petioles. The one in the photos is a small one that I received from Duke University Greenhouses surplus plants distribution.

A very neat alocasia - the leaves are very dark green on the upper side, and metallic-brownish on the undersides. Wine-colored petioles age to almost black.
The specimen in the photos has been accidentally mashed by another pot falling on it (and got decapitated in the process). It still did not quite recover, it seems - it's leaves are more crinkled than they should be.
