This is one of the two plants I received from Ellen Hornig. Initially it did not seem to like being grown in California - I thought that perhaps it requred some real cold for proper dormancy. After storing the tubers in the fridge, they emerged quite vigorously in May 1998, with many inflorescences, but so did the ones kept outside, with no frost whatsoever during the winter.

The leaves of this arisaema are very thick and somewhat
leathery. In the first year of growth, no flowers were produced. Despite
minor chlorosis, the tubers doubled in size and produced numerous offsets.

The tuber is pretty pink in color...
