The amorphophallic growth outdoors in California is nowhere close to what one ould expect from the warm weather throughout the year. This specimen has developed into a bonsai, but only in the vertical direction.

The stem is about 14 inches tall, the lamina well over 2.5 feet wide...
A side view at the stem, a couple months later. It is just as thick at the base as the big one I grew two years ago in North Carolina, but less than a third in height. The leaves obviously did not like the low humidity and excessive sun.
